Living in Central Florida, I have the access to some of the only remaining undisturbed wilderness in the state, \u00a0The chain of lakes in this area is sometimes difficult to access, and thankfully much of it is protected (at least for now). \u00a0One of the lakes I’m currently photographing has no access other than kayak. \u00a0The launch site is primitive, and on private (protected land). \u00a0The forest around it is mostly thick and impassable. \u00a0In short….my kind of place.<\/p>\n

As most of you who have followed my work know, I usually photograph avian wildlife. \u00a0This place is no exception, but I just can’t help but get caught up in the beauty of this place as I paddle out….completely alone….in this amazing location.<\/p>\n\"\"<\/a>\n

Of course, there are MANY birds here as well, but I wanted to give you a look at this location without the distraction of my “usual suspects” \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n\"\"<\/a>\n

I suppose it would be irresponsible of me not to mention that this lake also has a lot of Alligators (as well as other natural dangers)…some of them quite large. \u00a0I’ve been out here several times now, and I couldn’t tell you the number of eyeballs that have popped out of the water within close proximity to my kayak as I paddled by.\u00a0Working these types of locations is a risk\/reward scenario for sure, and I would never recommend this type of extreme photography to most people. \u00a0My kayak is specifically designed\/modified for the work I do, and is still risky. \u00a0I’ve made the choice to take that risk, and share these images.<\/p>\n\"\"<\/a>\n
